The Ridgeview Farmhouse

The Johnsons wanted to build a farmhouse home in Crossville, TN. They wanted more than a house on a lot. They wanted a forever home on their own family land, drafted and designed around exactly how they live. So East Tennessee Contractors carried that vision from the first sketch to the final walkthrough. East Tennessee Contractors sized and shaped it around raising a family of five in the country.

A Farmhouse Home Built for the Land

A steep gable roof and crisp white board-and-batten siding set the tone from the driveway. Inside, the great room opens beneath a vaulted ceiling anchored by a rough-hewn wood beam. Tall gable windows stack floor to peak, so natural light pours into the kitchen, dining, and living space all day. East Tennessee Contractors carried that same openness onto a wraparound porch. A pine tongue-and-groove ceiling finishes it, built to age well outdoors. Granite countertops and a wide kitchen island keep the heart of the home just as functional as it is elegant.

Designed Around the Way the Johnsons Live

The Johnsons needed more than square footage. They needed a home that worked for at-home schooling, remote work, and everyday family life in the country. So East Tennessee Contractors planned the layout around those exact needs from the start, not as an afterthought. Bedrooms sit tucked away from the open living space. That way, the family can work and learn without losing the togetherness the great room creates. Outside, the land itself became part of the design, with room for kids to play and grow up outdoors.

One Team, Drafted to Move-In

Most custom home clients hire an architect, then a separate builder, then wait for the two to sync up. The Johnsons skipped that step entirely. East Tennessee Contractors drafted the home around the family’s wants and needs. The same team built it too, under one roof, one schedule, and one point of accountability. That single-source process is what let a from-scratch design move from paper to a finished forever home.
