The Project

Lake Hill is a modern barndominium we built in Crossville, Tennessee — three bedrooms, two baths, and an open plan designed around light, storage, and everyday flow. We took it from concept to keys in six months.

What Makes It a Barndominium — and a Modern One

The barndominium bones are easy to spot: bold black metal siding, an open-concept interior with long clear spans, and vaulted ceilings that come straight from the building’s form. The modern edge is in the finish work — oversized windows that pull daylight deep into the plan, polished concrete floors running throughout, and a full folding glass wall that opens the living area to the outdoors. Closed, it seals tight against the weather; open, it turns a weekend gathering into an indoor-outdoor one.

Built Around Daily Life

The kitchen centers the home: quartz countertops, premium appliances, and a pantry with its own sink so prep stays hidden and dishes stay out of sight. The primary suite carries a large shower and an oversized closet, and two more bedrooms give family or guests their own corners. We mapped room locations, door swings, and window placement around the owners’ actual routines — minimal hallways, storage where it gets used, surfaces that take wear without fuss.
